The selected source excludes food use

The selected Tesco liner is not recommended for food use. That statement remains part of its purchase record even if 50 L looks convenient or its per-bag price is lower than a food-storage product. It is a waste-liner selection, not an economical substitute for a food-contact bag.

Capacity does not change intended use

Nominal capacity, recycled-content wording and a tie handle do not establish a food-contact application. We have not assessed composition, migration, temperature limits or contact with particular foods. A bag can be useful for its intended task without being suitable for a different one. Our finder displays the source restriction rather than generating a personal food-safety approval.

Keep food and waste records separate

For example, a shopper comparing bulk storage should not divide the liner price by nominal litres and rank it against the Bacofoil food bag. That denominator would hide the different use scope and create an unsupported suitability claim. The ledger refuses a common capacity-based performance or food-contact comparison.

Choose an exact supported product

Select a product with explicit current instructions for the actual food-storage task, and follow its own limits. Keep bin-liner stock in a separate matching-count target. If the received pack differs, ask the retailer before use rather than assuming all plastics or all waste bags carry the same permission. Independent material/food-contact review remains pending.

A purchase case to keep explicit

A home storage project may use the liner for its intended waste task while needing an entirely separate food-storage product. Keep that distinction in the purchase list. Recycled-content language or a large capacity is not evidence of a permitted food-contact use.
