Read the full selected warning
The selected Waitrose 40 m by 350 mm non-PVC film page gives limited microwave use, not unrestricted heating. Its warning says not to wrap food directly in film for microwave use, and describes covering a container with a corner folded back for steam rather than puncturing. This is a source record for choosing the product, not a cooking demonstration by this site.
Do not wrap food directly for microwave use
The same warning gives 70°C for up to 2 hours or 100°C for up to 15 minutes. Those are paired source limits;we do not combine the higher temperature with the longer time or calculate a new time/temperature schedule between them. The current received package must be checked because no physical label has been inspected here.
Keep both published heating limits
It also excludes conventional or combination ovens and microwave browning units, and says to allow food to cool before wrapping. These restrictions remain visible beside the supported use. A generic microwave-safe icon on another film would not replace this exact wording or establish direct hot-food contact.
Do not turn the record into a cooking prescription
If your intended appliance or use falls outside the listed scope, leave it unsupported and ask Waitrose. We do not provide personalised food-safety advice, temperature extrapolation or a heating tool. No actual microwave, food-contact, migration or seal trial has been performed, and independent material/food-contact/content review remains pending.
A purchase case to keep explicit
If a cooking task would require the film to touch the food during microwave heating, the selected source’s restriction is not met merely because the temperature is below a listed limit. Contact, appliance, time and temperature are separate conditions that must remain together.
