No. Bacofoil’s inspected FAQ refers to its PVC cling films as microwave lidding material up to 100°C, and separately says a PE EasyCut product available in Ireland cannot be used in a microwave. That does not create a universal rule that all PVC films work the same way or that all non-PVC films are prohibited.
Read what the FAQ actually names
Our selected film is a Waitrose non-PVC 40 m by 350 mm record with its own specific microwave limits and contact restrictions. It is neither named product in that Bacofoil FAQ. Copying only the most permissive sentence would drop the brand, material, market and exact-version conditions that make an instruction meaningful.
Use the selected film’s own instructions
The same principle applies to zipper bags. Bacofoil’s current ZIPPER page explicitly excludes microwave and ovens despite allowing freezer and dishwasher use. A general brand FAQ cannot substitute for those bag-specific warnings. No polymer-only compatibility algorithm or heating approval is provided in our tools.
Resolve missing or conflicting versions
Keep the exact product identifier and current package beside the source. If the label or product version is not established, mark the intended use unknown and request clarification. We preserve the FAQ as evidence of why product-specific reading matters, not as a recipe or a way to authorise a different product’s use.
A purchase case to keep explicit
A FAQ describing a product available in Ireland is not a UK selected-SKU label. Keep the country and version visible, and do not treat it as a brand-wide rule. For the selected Waitrose film, the current exact package is the relevant next evidence check.
